October 31st is known to be a favorite holiday of many, as people get to dress up and go trick or treating for Halloween. The spooky day is approaching fast, and so is the desire of many to give trick or treaters sweet treats that they will enjoy. While this may seem like an easy task, it is found to have been tough for many homeowners. For starters, trick or treaters don’t enjoy the same treats as they did years ago. So, to rise to the occasion and satisfy these cheerful trick or treaters, we have created a list of the top 10 candies for this Halloween season.
10. Starburst
This candy comes in a variety of flavors with pink Starburst being the most popular. The pink Starbursts are known for their strong strawberry flavor. Lemon and cherry come off as fruity and tart, while orange is sweet and refreshing.
9. Kit Kat
Kit Kats are known for their perfect balance of wafers and chocolate filling. It is made up of three layers of wafer. Each package of Kit Kats usually has either one, two, or four pieces of candy. The most popular one during Halloween is the fun-size Kit Kat which is usually for one.
8. Candy Corn
It is a mixture of sugar, fondant, corn syrup, vanilla flavor, and marshmallow creme. Candy corn is known for its similar resemblance to corn kernels. Despite its colorful appearance, it isn’t very popular as people don’t like the taste.
7. Sour Patch Kids
“They’re sour then they’re sweet.” This candy begins with a strong tartness and citric acid flavor. Then it transforms into a sweet gummy. It comes in five flavors, lime, lemon, orange, cherry, and blue raspberry.

Hershey’s is known for its sweet and chocolatey taste with caramelized flavor and a vanilla aftertaste. It’s unique as it is made with farm-fresh milk. No matter the holiday, Hershey’s is always there to bring a smile to people’s faces.

Twizzlers are chewy ropes of candy made mostly of syrup and wheat flour. The most popular flavor is strawberries. They are mostly eaten in movie theaters but are also a common treat given to trick-or-treaters.
4. Tootsie Pops
They are one of the most favored lollipops. Many children love the candy because of the Tootsie Roll at the center of the Tootsie Pop. These sweets garnered attention during the 1960’s with the slogan, “How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?” Students from Purdue University made the “Licking Machine,” which was made to act like a human tongue and found that it took an average of 364 licks to get to the center.
3. Regular M&Ms
M&Ms are bright colorful candies made with a hard outer sugar coating with a milk-chocolate filling. They are a favorite as there is a massive M&M store in Manhattan.
