There are many different sports teams at Cardozo High School. Between varsity and junior varsity, as well as boys and girls teams, and winter and spring sports—there are dozens upon dozens of teams. However, not many people know who keeps track of all of these teams.
Clare Kim is one of the many students at Cardozo High School. Aside from academics, Kim has dedicated her high school days to managing sports teams. She works hard to ensure organization at all sports games.
Kim, a senior at Cardozo, can often be found sitting at the Judges’ table working. Kim managed many teams before her senior year, however. “I managed baseball in my junior year, but I started to enjoy it so much that I wanted to manage football and basketball,” she explained.
After football season ended, she decided to manage the Cardozo basketball team. At games, she is in charge of the scoreboard—making sure, all the fouls, and points are correctly placed as well as controlling the honking throughout the games. While many people do not know about her job, she plays a vital role at all games during sports seasons.
Not only does Kim help during the games, but she also does things behind the scenes such as manage money and help with scheduling. Following her time at Cardozo, Kim hopes to go to college and continue her time managing sports teams.
““I plan on managing the football team and the basketball team [in college] if I can,” Kim stated.
Sports teams can rest assured that a responsible person such as Kim can keep their games organized and running smoothly. With the coaches and the basketball team motivating her to continue on, she sets the example of a diligent person ready to do the job she loves.
