Being a high school student can be hard for many people, as trying to find a balance between school work and fun can be challenging. Sometimes, all it takes it experience to learn the right mix between the two. Lindsay Raghunanan, a smart and hardworking senior at Benjamin N. Cardozo High School, has got it figured out.
Raghunanan is a good student who is also part of the law program. She says that her years at Cardozo have helped her become a better person. Along the way, Raghunanan has discovered friendships and new connections with teachers. “It has been a good experience so far. I’ve made a lot of friends and new memories with them and I spend the majority of my time here so it feels like another home,” she shared.
Along with new connections and new experiences, Cardozo has left a positive impact on her because they gave her a sense of the real world in terms of responsibility and accountability. “Cardozo has left a positive impact on me because I learned a lot of new things and experiences and has taught me how to be around new people that might be different from me in a variety of ways.”
Although she does love Cardozo, Raghunanan says that her favorite part of school is when she hears the last bell of the day ring and she gets to go home—which I’m sure a lot of us can relate to.
Even though school can be tiring and a lot of work, Raghunanan always tries her best and works really hard, because she wants to make her family proud. Raghunanan is a role model to her younger friends and everyone because she is kind and dedicated to her school. Raghunanan has been an inspiration to her friends of the lower grades and also in general because she’s a very kind-hearted person, as well.
Raghunanan expressed that she loves Cardozo. “I wouldn’t change anything about Cardozo because the things that are in place right now is what makes the school unique and being a senior here, I had a lot of fun here. My favorite thing about school is getting to be around my friends and making new friends because it always feels nice to meet new people.” she reflected.
Raghunanan does more than just go to school. She also has a job after school a few days a week and she likes to bake. Raghunanan also really likes cars. She spends her free time building and fixing cars. Her favorite cars are the Nissan 240sx and Lexus IS300.
If Raghunanan could give one piece of advice to other students, she shared, “Enjoy themselves while also keeping up with their schoolwork. It’s important to have fun, but it’s also important to stay focused so you don’t fall behind or feel left out.”
