What is Model UN?
Model UN is the club that simulates the United Nations and is dedicated to raising awareness about global issues with a focus on the United Nations work.
In UNASUA, they advocate for the goals of the United Nations such as world peace and human rights. They discuss the political and social state of the world and unpack the issues that plague our society.
Events
The biggest event in the club is undoubtedly the Model UN conference. In the conference, each student gets an assigned country and committee and attends the conference as a delegate of that assigned country.
During the NHSMUN (National High School Model UN) conference, which took place in Manhattan from March 8 to March 11, Cardozo students were able to share ideas and find solutions to make world peace. NHSMUN was a global conference with people from many different regions with different ideas coming together to seek world peace.
Everyone comes up with analyses of current issues that are blocking humanity from stepping on world peace and collaborating to find solutions.
New member of Model UN club, currently a sophomore in Cardozo, described this conference experience as “Amazing opportunity to discuss world issues with tons of people from around the world,” and definitely consider joining if anyone is interested in global issues.
