Singer D4vd is under police investigation after a decomposed body belonging to a missing 15-year-old girl was found in a Tesla registered to him.
The 20-year-old singer, whose legal name is Anthony David Burke, owned the car where Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s body was found. Hernandez was first reported missing in April 2024. The body had been in the Tesla for “several weeks” according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Multiple sources confirmed that Rivas and Burke were involved in a romantic relationship. Several pieces of evidence were found connecting Burke to the victim, including a TMZ picture of the alleged singer paying off students in a parking lot near the Lake Elsinore area, where Rivas was from.
As the investigation picked up key players involved, such as Rivas’ former science teacher, shared information they knew on social media. The science teacher claimed to have taught Rivas years ago when she initially went missing on April 5 2024. He claimed she ran away to Burke’s Hollywood Hills home after the two met on social media.
In September, the LAPD issued a warrant to search Burke’s home for blood and other evidence tying him to the victim. Although the LAPD has yet to issue a suspect or official person of interest, many former fans have decided to sleuth the internet for connections.
Some lyrics from Burke’s albums and unpublished songs have been questioned, such as one titled titled “Celeste” and “whatsreal.” Fans find the lyrics to both songs to be incriminating. Lyrics such as “The girl with my name tattooed on her chest,” are suspicious to fans because Burke and the victim had matching tattoos. Most of the internet is also exposing evidence on X and Reddit, such as alleged Discord messages between the couple or rumors that Rivas was pregnant with Burke’s child.
Cardozo junior Malia Senior, a fan of D4vd, said, “I feel like they literally failed her [Rivas] because there was nobody…why wasn’t anybody reporting this to the police? Instead, they were, like, using blackmail to get money.”
Senior added that the songs are sufficient evidence, in her opinion. “He was talking about some, oh Celeste. And I feel like that’s, that’s, like, evidence enough to lock him up. Because they said there were two Celestes. And I’m like maybe, the older Celeste is, the cover-up.”
Junior Matthew Pimble said that it’s hard to know the truth because it’s hard to know if the media is being honest. “It’s so bad that our media is corrupted, like we can’t even listen to pure media because of TMZ, that’s probably not 100% of the information that they’re getting.”
Many fans online believe that the media is hiding information, because despite evidence of a relationship between Rivas and Burke, he was not named a suspect by the LAPD. One thing is for certain, Burke’s lack of statement or apology has spectators questioning just how much involvement he actually has in the case and whether or not he is guilty.
Pimble added, “ He should at least address the situation as him not doing it. If he didn’t do it, say you didn’t do it.”
