During the fall and winter season, clothing company Supreme dropped many new collaborations with celebrities, bringing a newfound feel to the popular streetwear brand. This sought after collaboration includes rapper Playboi Carti, designer Yohji Yamamoto, and many more popular influencers and artsts.
Many of these new pieces target a younger generation of shoppers through modern trends like the Playboy Carti Picture Tee and the Myles Underwood Stick Tee. The new 2025 collection originally opened on Aug. 28, with weekly drops occurring every Thursday following. Most of the new items were sold out in all colors and sizes within minutes of the online drop. With the new found hype, pictures were taken outside of the Supreme Bowery store and people camped the night outside of the store’s entrance, eagle-eyed for the new release.
Although some designs seem controversial, this is nothing new for Supreme. The brand often pushes the envelope with many of their popular designs, such as in a sweater featuring a crosshair over the United States flag, which sold out quickly.

Supreme’s brand is deeply rooted in New York skate culture, as it started as a local skate brand that slowly expanded to a multi-million dollar brand. The company still sells skate boards, but is also intertwined with many other brands such as Jacob & Co and BBS, with several celebrities owning their own picture tees.
Many, however, are unaware that Supreme also has roots outside of the U.S., as its presence is deeply intertwined in Japanese culture. Videos showing traditional Dekotora trucks covered out with the Supreme logo and the brand releasing sets like chopsticks and tea sets. Supreme also made very popular collaborations with brands like Comme De Garcons and Yohji Yamamoto. With its first few Japanese stores opening in the 1990s, the brand has grown to now six stores, with three in Tokyo and the other three in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.

Last season, Supreme released a picture tee featuring Dean Blunt, an artist that recently gained traction over social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The difference between Supreme and other brands is their attitude towards controversy, with many pieces being in conversation, increasing their ability to steal people’s attention.
In the start of Spring this year, Supreme released their SS25 collection featuring Dean Blunt and an image of Damien Hirst’s artwork, a shark dipped in formaldehyde. The shark featured was supposedly first dipped in the 1990s, but in 2024 it was exposed the art was most likely made in 2017 instead, raising questions about its authenticity and legitimacy.
Supreme is now located worldwide with three stores in the U.S. The brand has two New York locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Outside of New York, there is a third location in Los Angeles. The Manhattan Supreme Bowery store is a massive corner building covered in graffiti, on the inside it features mostly the pieces of its new collection, other skate brands and used and new skateboards for sale.
Exiting the Supreme hypebeast era, now in 2025 people want to leave the iconic box logos and cloud glasses behind. Despite this, it seems like Supreme’s years-long legacy won’t disappear any time soon, as its refreshing and sometimes shocking partnerships and collaborations keep the brand in demand.
