As October unfolds, Cardozo students face an important decision: who should they vote for in this year’s student elections? If you want your voice to be heard, it’s important to choose representatives who will effectively advocate for your needs and desires. This year, we have a fantastic lineup of candidates ready to represent the interests of Cardozo students.
Presidential Candidates
The presidential candidates are Ivy Varricchio, Kyle Chung, and Joseph Cha. Each candidate has proposed new school policies that aim to enhance Cardozo’s activities. When choosing our president, we must consider who can truly represent the entire student body.
Ivy Varricchio
Ivy Varricchio, a senior, is committed to finding more fundraising opportunities to support fun events for Cardozo students. “We could organize monthly raffles, promote engaging events, and hold bake sales at games,” she suggested. Varricchio aims to create more interactive experiences for students across all grades.
Kyle Chung
Kyle Chung, also a senior, strives to improve the school environment. “My goal is to create a cleaner and safer space for all Cardozo students,” he explained. “I will communicate updates through a school-wide Google Classroom and, as a member of the safety committee, I will advocate for a cleaner school.”
Joseph Cha
Joseph Cha, a senior with prior experience as last year’s vice president, outlined his plans if elected president. “First, I want to introduce events like Teacher vs. Student Night and field days for friendly competitions. Additionally, I plan to host parties for seniors and underclassmen alike, and I’ll ensure events run smoothly.”
Vice Presidential Candidates
The candidates for vice president are Annmaria Joshy, Bhawi Sinigh, and Krisha Patel.
Annmaria Joshy
Annmaria Joshy, a senior known for her leadership skills, aims to make Cardozo a better place. In her promotional video, she shared, “I am hardworking, kind, and compassionate, and I’ll always go the extra mile for my classmates.”
Bhawi Sinigh
Bhawi Sinigh, another senior, envisions a student organization where everyone feels connected, heard, and empowered. “Vote for me as your vice president because I’m dedicated to turning that vision into reality,” she stated, positioning herself as the true voice of Cardozo students.
Krisha Patel
Krisha Patel, also a senior, wants to bring more fun events to the school. “Once elected vice president, exciting events will come to Cardozo! Students and teachers can form their own teams to compete in a series of mini sports games for prizes.”
Secretary Candidates
Finally, our candidates for secretary are Krishna Pillai, Muhammad Mujahid, and Krisha Patel.
Krishna Pillai
Krishna Pillai is dedicated to community service, volunteering at both a hospital and an ambulance corporation. “As a secretary, I will communicate effectively, organize well, and foster a positive environment. I’m confident that I can do just that.”
Muhammad Mujahid
Muhammad Mujahid, a senior at Cardozo, wants to establish an inquiry box in the leadership room to better understand student needs. “My goal is to address student concerns, like the dress code, and help Cardozo have another successful year.”
Krisha Patel
Once again, Krisha Patel is running for both vice president and secretary. As secretary, her focus will be “to bring positive change, organize enjoyable events, give back to the community, and make this school year the best it can be.”
As you consider your choices in this election, think about the qualities and visions each candidate brings to the table. Your vote matters—make sure your voice is heard!
