This week, the girls’ golf team won their match against John Adams High School with a score of 4-1 at the Douglaston Golf Course. With the 10 members on their team, these girls were able take home the victory and spread Cardozo High spirit throughout the day.
The team is coached by Mr. Ciorciari, also known as Mr. C by many students at Cardozo. Alongside him, team captain Jane Lee takes on a huge responsibility for her team and is always motivating them to do their best.
“I tell them to not worry, and it doesn’t matter if we lose,” Lee said.
Lee’s passion for golf started in middle school. “I actually joined the golf team since freshman year and been on this team for 4 years,” she said.
“I started playing when I was in 6th grade and I enjoyed playing with my dad all the time. So I decided to join the team at our school.”
One of the reasons she loves being on the golf team is the good times they have together. “I was able to create new memories with my teammates and become really good friend with all of them,” Lee explained.
“They really motivated me to keep going and not quit.”
