Beloved commentator Francisco “Paco” Villa died on May 1st after two years of fighting cancer. Villa is one of the most well known commentators who worked for Televisa and Univision’s Mexican soccer game broadcasts.
Villa’s cancer was announced in Qatar 2022, while having a dinner, he spoke about a huge pain in his stomach. He believed it was food poisoning, but as the pain increased he went to doctor and it was confirmed it was cancer in his pancreas. When Villa found out he has cancer, he told his fans on social media as he expressed “era un cancer agresivo” which translated from Spanish meant, “it was an aggressive cancer.”
Villa was known for his charismatic ways, and his iconic laugh. His voice resonated to those who listened to him, since he had a huge passion for soccer, which he showed in his expressions and the tone of his voice.
