As summer break is quickly approaching, you might be thinking about what to do during the two months. If you really don’t have anything on your schedule, below are some internships and programs we recommend that you might want to apply to.
Garden 2 Market Internship
The Garden 2 Market is an eight-week internship for anyone interested in the growing and selling aspects of food. Interns will work in their garden and learn about horticulture, composting, and the social and community aspects of a garden. They will spend time exploring food justice issues and learning about the business of running a weekly farm stand, everything from ordering and pricing to stocking the table and completing a sale.
They will also gain communication skills and become advocates for healthy eating in their community. The internship includes many chances to taste and cook new foods and recipes as well. Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview by email. The first round, in-person interviews, will take place at the end of April/early May. The second round of phone interviews will take place in May.
