Do you have any formal wear that won’t be reused? If that’s the case, you are probably wondering what to do with it. No need to be stressed, the Queens Public Library has your back. Join your local library in giving another person a memorable prom experience.
Some of the Queens Public Libraries are taking part in a prom dress drive, including:
- Bayside location at 214-20 Northern Boulevard
- Central Library location at 89-11 Merrick Boulevard
- Elmhurst location at 86-07 Broadway
- Forest Hills location at 108-19 71 Avenue
- Fresh Meadows location at 193-20 Horace Harding Expressway
- Glen Oaks location at 256-04 Union Turnpike
- Howard Beach location at 96-06 156 Avenue
- Hunters Point location at 47-40 Center Boulevard
- Jackson Heights location at 35-51 81 Street
- Peninsula location at 92-25 Rockaway Beach Boulevard
- Ridgewood location at 20-12 Madison Street
- Cambria Heights location at 218-13 Linden Boulevard

The event for individuals to pick up their dresses will be held at the Cambria Heights branch teen center on May 11 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Students who attend the event this year will be able to pick out and take home a free prom dress, bag, and/or shoes.
There will be music, giveaways, and a photo booth. Registration will start in the beginning of May. For those who really need the help, contact your guidance counselor and mention that you would like to sign up for early registration.
